During his matriculation at TCU, Lord was a member of the varsity track team. In addition to his athletics, Stuart served as Vice President of the Student Government Association. “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.” —Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“While working for the common good, we must always remember the task before us is not as great as the power within us.”

—Dr. Stuart Calvin Lord
